We have a few big gigs coming up like the Free Press Houston tenth anniversary party this Friday and a show at Fitzgerald's with Kashmere Stage Band.

My apologies for forgetting to update this page for the past few months - don't worry, A Fistful of Soul is still happening on the third Friday of every month at the legendary Big Top Lounge and Pachinko Hut located at 3714 Main Street (Main @ Alabama) and there's still never a cover. We've added a second DJ booth out on the back patio, so you'll get twice the music for the same low price.

The next party will be January 18th with special guests Andrew Lee (Reverberation, HTX) and Topper James (The Big Beat, ATX).

After that we'll be playing tunes between sets with Archie Bell, Barbara Lynn, and Renaldo Domino on Saturday February 2nd at The Continental Club in Houston.

And then we'll be playing some tunes with Clarence BLOWFLY Reid (and he'll have a full backing band!) on Sunday February 10th at Walters in Downtown Houston.

This Friday September 21st is the A Fistful of Soul 3rd Anniversary . As always there is no cover and the finest soul 45s in town. We'll be joined by guests: Topper James & Brian Sears (Austin) and John Baldwin & Nathan Denny (Houston).

We'll be giving away FREE hand-set letter pressed posters from our friends at Workhorse Prints and we'll have FREE CDs if you buy one of our two new t-shirts.

Then Saturday the 22nd we'll be playing the big party at the Blaffer Museum (formerly Blaffer Gallery) - tickets are still available.

On top of all that we'll be playing with Daptone recording artist Charles Bradley on Thursday September 27th at Fitzgeralds. September is going to be huge!

Alright well A Fistful of Soul is coming up in just under two weeks on June 15th. I'll be joined by guest DJ Flash Gordon Parks while Joe is off in Sweden. I've found a ton of new 45s since last month including this nice Houston dance-craze that wasn't.

Wow it's been a busy few months and I've neglected to update the blog here. Tons of gigs lately including between sets with Lee Fields a few weeks ago, which was a blast. The venue change for AFOS has been great.

The next party is in a week - May 18th. No guests this time around just me and Joe.
